How to Play
To play Alhambra Solitaire, follow these steps:
- Initial Setup: The game begins with the Aces and Kings of each suit dealt as the start of the foundation piles. The Aces are built up, while the Kings are built down.
- Tableau Piles: Below the foundation piles, tableau piles are dealt, each containing a set of cards. The remaining cards form the stock pile.
- Gameplay Mechanics: Flip cards from the stock pile to the waste pile. You can move the waste card to the foundation piles if possible. For the tableau piles, you can move a card to the foundation piles or to the waste pile if the waste card is of the same suit and is one point higher or lower than the tableau card. Note that the King wraps to the Ace.
- Stock and Waste Piles: When the stock cards are used up, the waste cards can be turned to become the stock cards again, and this can be done twice in the game.
- Strategic Planning: The key to success is to plan strategically which tableau cards to stack to the waste pile. The more cards you can move to the foundation piles, the higher your score.
